Nature and scope of email therapy.
Email therapy involves the exchange of written communication between the therapist and the client. It offers convenience and flexibility but also has limitations compared to traditional face-to-face sessions.
Email therapy may not be appropriate for all issues or concerns. If it's determined that you would benefit from a different therapeutic modality, a referral to online video Coaching or Counselling will be made.
Privacy and Confidentiality:
Clients are strongly encouraged to use personal email addresses only. Please do not provide work or shared email addresses as doing so may compromise both of our privacy.
No online platform is 100% secure. There is always a risk, however small, that therapist/client communications could be intercepted or accessed by unauthorized parties.
It is recommended that you password-protect your devices and use secure Wi-Fi connections. Be mindful of using public Wi-Fi connections. Use Mobile data as a precaution.
Potential for Misunderstanding:
Written communication lacks the non-verbal cues present in face-to-face interactions, which can lead to potential misunderstandings.
If at any time you feel that something has been misinterpreted, please seek clarification promptly.
It may be recommended at times to transition to a phone call or video session if a topic requires more detailed or nuanced discussion. The therapist will always discuss this with you prior. If a video session is required, video session fees will apply (500PHP or $50AUD depending on the country you reside in).
Technical Issues:
In the event of technical issues preventing the sending or receiving of emails, both parties should seek to resolve the problem promptly. If an email isn't acknowledged within [specific time frame, e.g., 48 hours], please resend or reach out through an alternative method provided.
Regularly check your spam or junk folders to ensure emails haven't been mistakenly classified as such.
Emergencies:
Email therapy is not suitable for emergencies or crises. In the event of an emergency, please contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency room.
If you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts, please seek immediate assistance and inform your therapist as soon as it's safe to do so.
Terms and Conditions:
Payments are due upfront and are non-refundable. Clients are required to email a copy, picture, screenshot or file showing the payment receipt/details to Reforming Trauma Coaching & Counselling - reformingtraumacoaching@yahoo.com.
Once payment has been received, the client will receive the therapist email response within 7 days.
In the initial email, the client should include their symptoms, thoughts, previous diagnosis, concerns, etc. (See the attached file for which types of information you can include in your initial email).
The clients initial email should be no more than 1000 words long. I understand that it can be difficult to limit what you want to talk about but having a 1000 word limit will ensure that important information is included and not forgotten.
The therapist response email will address each symptom, thoughts, previous diagnosis, concerns, etc and include strategies, techniques, psychometric tools/scales/questionnaire, recommendations, worksheets, resources and/or reading links relevant to the topics mentioned.
Emails where the therapist is requesting further information/clarification will not incur any additional fees. Such therapist emails may include questions such as "Can you please tell me in which year you received the ADHD diagnosis"? or "You mentioned that you have experienced trauma, can you provide me with more information about the type of trauma you have experienced (i.e., car accident, death of a loved one, etc).
Package fees are stated in PHP or AUD. The fees in PHP are only available for Filipino's currently residing in the Philippines. PHP payments are to be paid via GCash or PayMaya. For Australian and International clients, AUD is to be paid via Osko, Pay Id or PayPal.
